What is the National Courier Association?

We are very proud to be the NCA member for Wakefield.  This pride isn’t just because of the extended coverage it gives us, or the fact that partner, Emma, is the Northern Area Representative.  We are proud because they let us in!

If your courier is an NCA member, you can be sure they will demonstrate the following things;

-         Proven systems for recording every single job they cover

-          High standards for professionalism in the courier industry

-          They have been around for some time and have experience in supporting businesses

-          They care about their reputation and will do the best they can for you, every time

Why is 021 Network different from any other courier?

Small and far reaching

As a small courier service, we are not governed by restrictive systems that the big boys need in place.  We are flexible enough to tailor our service around your business’ needs.  But the big companies have better coverage, right? Wrong. The NCA gives us 2000 vehicles at our fingertips, with national coverage.

Outside the box

We have never failed a delivery.  Through snow, ice and floods we will get it there. A good example of this is a delivery one of our car drivers was making to Gloucester during the flooding in 2007.  As the roads became un-passable for cars, we called on a partner with a 10 tonne truck to take the item the last few miles, and at no extra cost to our customer.  You give us a responsibility, and we will take it seriously.

Range of services

If there’s one thing the big boys are good at, its volume.  Increasingly our customers have asked us for a Next Day service, and we have obliged.  We have a relationship with one of the country’s leading parcel companies.  We trialled a few of them and, being obsessed with customer service, we have gone for the best tracking out there.  No parcel service is fail-safe, that’s why they’re cheap, but if something does go wrong we can sort it out straight away and know everything about your parcel’s journey, from the person that scanned it into the depot, to the driver that has it on their van.

We also have storage and forklift facilities on our site near Wakefield, and are happy to talk to you about distribution and fulfilment.

Family Firm and extended family

“There have been a lot of changes since we started up. Every one of them has made us better at what we do”
Ian Kidson (021 Network – Owner)

Ian’s son and daughter, Ben and Emma, are core members of our business, extending a supportive hand to customers and suppliers alike. As a team, they are close knit and very capable.  Both undertake training for their respective roles of distribution and office support.

This family ethos extends to our suppliers. They are the drivers who represent not only 021 Network, but the customers who rely on them. 021’s suppliers see their role as Customer Service. This sets them ahead, beyond the clichéd ‘White Van Man.’
